One of the things I truly love about Christmas time is the wonderful music that plays. I am talking about that music that has you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside, and just has you relaxed. While at this point many of you may be thinking of "The Christmas Song," or some other Christmas song along those lines, I am actually talking about the R&B Christmas music that really gets you into the Christmas mood. I am talking about those Boys II Men, Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston types of Christmas songs--those Christmas songs that have that soul in it, because after all what is Christmas without soul? Music with soul just helps me get into the Christmas spirit so much, so I decided that this would be a good time to share some of my favorite Christmas songs and hopefully it can help get you in the Christmas spirit too.
1. Boyz II Men- "Let it Snow"
I absolutely love this song. Every time I hear it I just want to get a hot cup of cappuccino and a blanket and just relax and watch snow fall. Hearing this song is so relaxing and it just makes me want to chill. It also has the most soothing beat ever. Boyz II Men really did their thing with this song.
2. Toni Braxton- "Christmas Song"
All I can say is that Toni really did her thing in this song. Toni's version of this song to me is the best version of the song ever and I really love the way she sings it. So much emotion and soul in it.
3. Luther Vandross- "This is Christmas"
Christmas without some Luther is not Christmas at all, and this song has a really good joyful message behind it.
4. Trevor Jackson- "I'll Be Who You Loved This Christmas"
This song is my 365-days-a-year song. Even though it is supposed to be a Christmas song I listen to it all the time and I absolutely love it so much! It is so much fun to listen to and if you have a little crush on someone you can play it for them and hope that they get the hint *wink wink*
5. Whitney Houston- "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"
All I can really say is that I really love me some Whitney! Whitney got that power house voice and she makes this song, sound like heaven. I absolutely love it. I also love how she sings "The Christmas Song."
Well, these are the top five soulful sounds that I listen to around Christmas time. Though I rarely listen to the other types of Christmas songs, I am still always in the Christmas spirit. Christmas to me, without soul, is not Christmas at all. I hope these songs help someone get into the Christmas spirit with a little soulful music, and you all enjoy it.
