It's November 1, which officially marks the start of the Christmas Season! (Yes, I know that Halloween was yesterday, and it hasn't even been Thanksgiving yet, but it's still Christmas) If you're anything like me, Christmas is your favorite time of year, and you anxiously await the arrival of snow, elves, and of course, Santa Claus.

I'm the person who starts listening to Christmas music in mid-October and finally stops singing the Christmas jams around Valentine's Day. Because of this undying love for Christmas, I have a Christmas playlist (notably named, Maddie Christmas, instead of Merry Christmas), and have compiled a list of the MUST HAVE Christmas songs, for your very own playlist.

1. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays - *NSYNC

What could be better than your favorite 90s boy band??

2. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas - Michael Buble

Michael Buble - without a doubt the KING of Christmas albums.

3. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Sam Smith

A classic, sung by a TRUE icon. Any rendition of this song is amazing, but this one is my favorite.

4. Last Christmas - Ariana Grande

Try and listen to this without singing along - I dare you.

5. Mistletoe - Justin Bieber

"I should be playing in the winter snow, but imma be under the mistletoe... with YOOUUUUU, shawty with you (with YOUUUU)"

6. Santa Claus is Comin To Town - Mariah Carey

Another classic, by the queen of Christmas.

7. Carol of the Bells - Destiny's Child

This version is truly haunting.

8. Blue Christmas - Michael Buble

Originally by Elvis Presley, both versions are amazing.

9. Santa Baby - Eartha Kitt

Fun Fact: Eartha Kitt played Yzma in The Emperor's New Groove.

10. You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch - Jim Carrey

The anthem from my absolute FAVORITE Christmas Movie.

11. It's Christmas Time Again - Backstreet Boys

Another Christmas song meets 90s boy band.

12. Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree - Miley Cyrus

Our generation's favorite blonde (and brunette) pop star.

13. Christmas Without You - OneRepublic

Not as well known, but will still get stuck in your head.

14. This Christmas - Chris Brown

Another under-appreciated Christmas bop.

15. Underneath the Tree - Kelly Clarkson

A straight JAM, honestly is stuck in my head 24/7 around the holidays.

16. Baby, It's Cold Outside - Glee Cast Version

While the original version of this song is amazing, there's something about Blaine and Kurt singing it that makes me so happy.

17. Christmas Love - Justin Bieber

The Justin Bieber Christmas album in its entirety is all-around festive.

18. The Christmas Waltz - Frank Sinatra

In the words of another Odyssey team member: "All day, EVERY DAY"

19. It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Matthew Morrison

The perfect way to celebrate "the most wonderful time of the year".

20. Christmas Shoes - E Carswell

From the first time I heard this song, I knew it was a classic.

21. All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey

The epitome of Christmas music. I have SIX different versions in my Christmas playlist including the original, the extra festive version, the Glee cast version, the Fifth Harmony version, and the Justin Bieber version, and the Michael Buble version.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and the music makes it that much better. Despite the sighs from my friends and roommates, I will continue to listen to (and sing) Christmas music all throughout this Christmas season.

Below I've attached my very own playlist so that you all can listen, too!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
