My Christmas To-Read List

The books I want to read this year during Christmas break.

My Christmas To-Read List

So, it's finally December, which means that Christmas is just around the corner. That also means, to us book nerds, that we can read a whole bunch of books while sitting in front of the fire and drinking hot chocolate. It's my favorite time of year to read and I'm planning on reading quite a few books during my two-to-three week break! So I have come up with a list of books that I plan on reading during break.

1. Let It Snow

This book by authors, John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle, contains three shorter stories that all connect in different ways. I've read this book before, but I think it's such a cute book that is just begging to be reread. If you want to read the synopsis, you can click here.

2. Home for the Holidays

This book by Debbie Macomber, contains two stories in one. Unlike the first book on this list, the stories do not connect, but they are definitely two stories worth reading over the holidays. You can read the synopsis here.

3. Dash & Lily's Book of Dares

I have not actually read this book, or any other as a matter of fact, by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. It looks like a really cute story set during the holidays and I'm anxious to pick it up this holiday season. For a synopsis, you know where to look.

4. What Light

This book, by Jay Asher, just came out this year and I have been wanting to read it, but I'm a little skeptical because I didn't really enjoy the other book I read by him, titled Thirteen Reasons Why. But, I'm going to try and go in with a clean slate and maybe this will be his redemption book (well, in my eyes at least). Synopsis is here.

5. Until Midnight

This Christmastime novella actually takes place after the first book of Melissa Landers' series, Alienated. This is a free ebook that you can get, but I highly recommend reading the first book before reading this one. I really enjoy this ebook and would love to reread it this year. Whether or not I read the first book again, is still up in the air. Because I don't want to give anything away for those who don't want spoilers, here is the synopsis for the first book of the series, Alienated.

If you have any suggestions on books to read this holiday season, feel free to comment them down below. I would love to also discuss any of the above books with you guys as well.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
