Christmas Oh Christmas, Where Art Thou

This last stretch through finals is leaving me searching for Christmas more than ever.

With the oncoming doom of finals week and the ever growing chill in the air, it is hard to miss the fact that Christmas is almost here. At every department store, and at every turn of our heads, we spy the certain traits of the year that make people sing with Christmas cheer. Almost everyone.

I say almost everyone because there are those few who are dragging themselves into inevitable debt through attending what is known as college, and with that accumulating debt comes the one week of the year filled with the agonizingly long abyss known as finals. It is during this one week of the year that students feel a terrifying sense of procrastination to the point that the thought of dropping out crosses one's mind at least once or twice. But we have already dragged ourselves into debt which we must pay off one way or another, so we must continue on.

Christmas is so close, that we can just smell it in the air everytime that we breathe in that frozen air, and we just can not help but think of better times not so far in the future when we will be able to live stress-free and without a single school assignment for almost an entire month until spring semester rolls around once again.

The only thing getting me (us?) through the semester is the thought of being back home enjoying a nice warm cup of hot chocolate, cuddled up in a mountain of blankets while binge watching Netflix, not having a single regret because there will not be a single thing on my to-do list. So Christmas, wherefore art thou, for I do not know how much longer I can take these sleepless nights (although long enough to make it through the semester and get one step closer to graduating). Here's to one more week of stress, and to many more of relaxation! Happy Holidays and good luck to everyone on their finals!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
