Awaking from my dreams,
I peer out at the soft snow.
It lay there still as an owl,
Silently informing me that
Christmas morning has arrived.
My heart thunders,
As I sprint down the stairs.
The green tree welcomes me
Along with my parents,
Smiles across their faces.
I hear the wrapping paper
Crumple under my hand.
I tear it off, quick as lightning,
To find the shiny, new game
I have waited to receive.
After all the gifts,
And many heart filled hugs,
Comes the enormous breakfast
With food galore,
Christmas morning is as extravagant as can be!
