The holiday season is a very cheery time. There's cold weather, pretty lights, toasty drinks and tasty treats. A time about giving and receiving and spending time with family. I'm so glad to be apart of it.

Oh, I haven't properly introduced myself, I'm a Christmas tree; born and raised in the Smokey Mountains.

The best part of Christmas, to me, is the look on families face when they find the perfect tree. I don't know what they're thinking but, I imagine its along the lines of " That's the one" or "That's the perfect tree!" And golly gee, do I try my hardest to look my best. Six years in the making, I'm a dark forest green and I don't have any gaps! it cant get any better than that. I quietly stand as the different families walk around, wondering which family will take me home. My excitement grows as more families stop by and look at my beauty. Nearing the end of the first day, I was giving p hope until one faithful family walks up to me, and smiles. I see a little girl look in awe as the mother grabs someone to ship me on my way. I finally found my home.

Once I'm strapped in the top of some strange contraption that I think they call cars. The winter crisp air against my branches is something I've always looked forward to. The car comes to a halt and I know that its time to see my new home, my forever home. The house looks cozy with Christmas decorations and smelled like cinnamon apples and vanilla. I never knew I could be so happy in one moment, and I hadn't even been decorated yet. Although I wonder what the finished product will look like. Will they put on tinsel? Multi colored lights or white lights? Homemade ornaments or those fancy ornaments? The options are literally endless. With Christmas music blaring, a family of six decorates me, in homemade ornaments , rainbow lights and a golden star on top. It felt like a magical transformations into my true self. I couldn't wait for Christmas to come, only 17 more days.

The beloved day finally arrived. Christmas is finally here and its my time to shine!! I hear the foot steps of children running down the steps. I know they're running towards the presents, but a part of me likes to think that they're running towards me. I listen to the chatter among the four kids about what they got for Christmas. periodically, each child would run back up the stairs, to wake up the parents, I'm assuming.

Some time passed and the parents grouchily walk down the steps. It as finally time to open the presents! There was a small murmur as everyone opened gifts with the occasional eruptions of laughter and numerous thank you. The family ate food as everyone talked abut their newly given gifts. Someone suggests to take a picture in front of the tree and everyone nods their heads in agreement. The camera flashes and my heart is if full of love; another great Christmas in the books!

I'm so incredibly grateful that I was able to spend Christmas with a wonderful family and witness the love in the room. It was an honor to be their Christmas tree.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
