CHRISTMAS
Start writing a post

Once Halloween comes and goes people are excited for Christmas to be here. They're all things Christmas. Even though, Thanksgiving hasn't passed they're all about Christmas. But now that Thanksgiving is over we can officially be excited for Christmas. From the music to the tree decorating and gift giving people are excited for Christmas for many many reasons!

Heres a list on what were excited during Christmas season;

1.) Decorating the Christmas tree

Growing up as kids we loved to decorate the tree because we loved seeing the tree and were excited about the presents but now that were growing up we decorate it because it can be fun and a stress relief.

2.) Seeing the Christmas lights

As kids we loved getting in the car and driving around town looking at the Christmas lights from home to home and just singing Christmas carols and making memories.

3.) Making Cookies

As college kids we look forward to eating in general. But eating the cookies once they're warm and fresh out of the oven is always a wonderful memory growing up. But now were more likely to eat the cookie dough over the actual cookie. Nothing wrong with that.

4.) Gift Giving

We as college kids sometimes don't know what we want for Christmas but do we ever really know? But when it comes to giving gifts to friends and family we already know exactly what were getting for them.

5.) White elephant gift exchange

We all love doing the white elephant gift exchange because its fun, easy and exciting. But getting to draw someones name and spend a limited amount of money just for fun, makes the gifts super memorable for everyone.

6.) Christmas Movies

We all love those super cheesy, classic Christmas movies we know all the words too. From the Christmas story to How the Grinch stole Christmas and we can't forget about Elf, and how we love all theses movies and even rewatch them during non winter seasons.

7.) Family bonding

Sometimes holidays bring families closer but they also can tear us apart. But we have to remember that the holidays are supposed to happy times. We love to cherish those special times together.

8.) Holiday food

Of course we can't forget about all the holiday food. As college kids we long for theses holidays for several home cooked meals and all the leftovers we can eat. Some look forward to the turkey, or the ham. While some of us are more excited about all the desserts such as pie or even homemade cookies.

No matter, how old we are we will always find something to cherish and enjoy making the memories around the holiday season.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
