Christmas Cookie Craze

Santa Claus gets his own presents on Christmas. They are sweet, soft, crunchy, and very decorated. Some of them are recognizable while others are not, but he eats them anyway because they are delicious. He only gets these sugary treats once a year, but it lasts him a while because every house he visits has them. So what are these delicious treats? If you didn’t get a hint from the cover photo above or from the title, Santa’s treats are cookies.

If you are at a loss of what types of cookies to bake, I can help with that. Here are five different cookies with links to recipes that I think you all will enjoy.

Peanut Butter Sugar Blossoms

These little guys are my absolute favorite, and I look forward to them every year. One tip: do not let the cookies cool off.Put the kisses on immediately because then they will stick to the dough and begin to melt.

Market oven-baked cookies with the cute printed designs on them

These are simple sugar cookies. My favorite part is the pictures; I get to look at Santa, his reindeer, candy canes, snowmen, or snowflakes before I eat them.Yes, sadistic I know, but what little kid doesn’t lose control when sugar is around them?

This recipe can be found on the cookie boxes you buy in markets. Usually, the Pillsbury boxes. You can buy them at Pavilions, Trader Joe's, and some other supermarkets as well.

Amish Ginger Cookies

These are my second favorite cookies during the holidays.I usually don’t put the sugar on them after they cool off, but that is up to the baker.Fair warning: these cookies do not smell very good while you are putting all of the ingredients.Do not let that scare you away from eating them, they are delicious.

Who doesn’t like making gingerbread cookies?Especially when they are actually gingerbread men.I always love decorating these ones.

Sally’s Baking Addiction

Sugar cookies cut in trees, ornaments, reindeer, Santa Claus hats

I loved baking these with my mom when I was little.I remember getting the cookie cutters out of the tin box we kept them in and then struggling to place the cookies on the sheet without tearing them.Decorating them with icing is always a messy affair, but it is fun none the less.Green, yellow, red, blue, white.Pick any color, grab a spreading knife, pick a cookie, and decorate away.

All recipes.

I hope that you all have an incredibly Christmas season. Remember, Santa Claus deserves presents too!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
