Christmas Came Early

... in musical form.

Christmas Came Early

December is an exciting month for many reasons: Christmas is in the foreseeable future, school is almost out for a month, warm, cozy sweaters can be worn, and the first snows begin. This year, December 4th and the rest of early December made the month exciting for an entirely different reason: new music. So many artists released new albums and tracks this past week, and here is a rundown of the ones worth listening to and the ones worth skipping.

1. Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven- Kid Cudi

This album presents a raw, rockstar side of Cudder, moving away from the psychedelic style he used in previous albums. The Beevis and Butthead skits that are introduced in the middle of many of the tracks introduce an interesting dynamic to the sound of the album while the acoustic tracks soften the sound. Tracks such as Handle With Care, Confused, and Melting are the standouts of this one. Although the sound is different from previous Cudi music, it is everything he promoted it to be.

2. A Head Full of Dreams- Coldplay

Coldplay has done it again. The light-hearted album contains vocal duties with Beyonce and collaborations with Tove Lo; you will not want to stop listening. The album is ridden with musical bliss, each track building on the next. It is an album that will make you smile!

3. When It's Dark Out- G-Eazy

G-Eazy baited his fans with many singles from the long awaited album and on December 4th they got everything they waited for. Arguably the best album from G-Eazy yet, he boasts collaborations with Big Sean and Chris Brown. With a mix of the slow and soulful vibes to the party promoting songs about money, booze and women, G-Eazy touches on a large spectrum of emotion.

4. Black Market- Rick Ross

Opening with a slow and assertive track featuring John Legend and ending with a banger featuring Future, there is a lot going on in this album. With appearances by Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige, many different artists and musical interests came together to make this album possible.

5. Late Nights- Jeremih

His first studio album since 2010- this is another that features a lot of big name artists. Citing label issues and personal struggles as the reasons for the long delay, the long awaited album finally dropped on December 4th. Tracks like Worthy, Royalty, and Impatient make the wait worth it.

Christmas came early this year with hours of new and awesome music for you to jam to or get pumped up to as we enter finals season.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
