"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go!" - Johnny Mathis. From watching Christmas movies all month long to drinking eggnog around the fire place on Christmas eve, it's just nice to be home from school for a little and not have to worry about exams and papers but to focus on things like family and friends.
1. When you realize Christmas break means...
We should all share Buddy's enthusiasm when we realize that Santa is coming to town.
2. When relatives haven't seen you in forever, and refuse to believe you're really you
I've only been gone for a year or two, I'm not that old.
3. Getting to sleep in your own bed again
Even if you brought your bed to school and a new one was put in your room, you still feel a bit more at ease when you plop your head down on a pillow in your own room in your house.
4. Getting to see all of your friends again
Now even though most of us came home for Thanksgiving break as well, you only had a short amount of time to see everyone compared to winter break. So get out there and catch up with people.
5. Drinking at home vs. at school
When you go out with friends and have a bit too much to drink, just make sure you're not acting like you're down at school. People exist outside of college life.6. Snow days
When a ton of snow is forecasted, and you've planned a full day of sleep, but you're just waiting for a text from your significant other with this whole plan.7. Ugly Christmas sweaters are a real thing in some places
Remember, the things that we take as a joke, and throw parties around are actual things people may wear out in public. So try not to laugh if you see one.
8. When everyone asks you how schools going, and if you're handling it well
It's always the hardest thing to get through everyone's questions, or you just stick to one blanket statement hoping they believe you.
9. But you have a friend over, and they give you this look
But, we have to have that one friend over who will make one comment that throws off your whole plan, and you're stuck in a huge conversation while they sit back and watch.
10. Remember: Don't be a Grinch
"The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear." - Buddy the Elf. Nobody likes a Grinch on Christmas, so perk up, smile, and have a good time.
11. Leaving to go back
This is always one of the hardest parts. It doesn't matter what break it is, or how long till the next one starts. The end of one means you're leaving your friends and are on your way back to dive into more studying. Wouldn't it be a nice gift to just get all A's for a year?
