7 Survival Tips For Christmas Break

After getting through finals week, you're either completely relieved or even more stressed out depending on whether you passed or failed your classes. Hopefully, like me, you passed and can now enjoy a long, worthy, and much needed break. So, if you need things to do, this article is for you. Now that you finally get a break from college, here are some things to help you survive Christmas break.

1. Go skiing/snowboarding/tubing

Ah! One of my favorite things to do during the winter season. Go skiing, snowboarding, or even tubing. It's a great experience and is always fun.

2. Watch movies

Watching movies never gets old. Put your favorite movie in and stay in bed all day.

3. Listen to music

When you're bored and feel like singing/dancing your heart out, put on music and do it like no one's watching.

4. Read a book

Need something quiet and relaxing to do? Pick up a book an start reading it.

5. Bake

Yum! Who doesn't love baking? Look up the ingredients to your favorite cookie recipe and bake away. My favorite is using my grandma's secret recipe's.

6. Go shopping

Yes! It's Christmas shopping time! Go on a road trip to the mall with your friends and spend the money you worked hard for (hopefully.)

7. Hangout with family and friends

Don't forget about your family and friends over break. Spend quality time with them. Put effort into seeing them.

8. Sleep

One of our favorite things to do-sleep. Sleep as much as you can. I know how draining school can be. Take time to yourself and sleep. Plus, it's good for you.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
