Snuggling up on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa that brings warmth to your fingers as your wrap them around the middle of the cup and as you look outside and see the gusts of wind, flurries and cold air pounding on the windows, it brings you that much more warmth. Underneath your blanket is you in your pajamas and fuzzy socks watching Christmas movies all day.
If you aren't watching Christmas movies you are dancing around your kitchen baking an endless amount of Christmas cookies and singing your heart out to Christmas carols. Decorating your house with mini trees, fake trees or real ones and unboxing all of those Santa's, ornaments, lights, reefs, bells, angels, stars, you name it and its out and placed in a special spot.
Trees are strung with popcorn and lights colored or white, they are decorated with ornaments that we've handmade or bought and the room is filled with the aroma of pine needles.
All of this can add to the heart of Christmas, but for me its not what makes Christmas so magical. Christmas is the best time of the year because even though it is just for a month, many people are much more generous and kind to one another.
Even though many of us can't continue that kindness shown to one another and having the heart of sharing and caring year round, we are at least guaranteed that all once a year and that's a start.
