As I am sure most of you are aware, a YouTube star and "The Voice" contestant was shot and killed during a fan meet-and-greet in the mix of the Orlando Shootings. According to CNN, authorities have identified her killer as Kevin James Loibl. Christina's brother Marcus attacked Loibl after the shot was fired. Loibl committed suicide after shooting Grimmie. Grimmie was only 22 years old and had a full life ahead of her. We should celebrate the life she had and how she inspired many.

Her music journey began in 2009 at 15 years old when she started making YouTube videos of her singing covers of popular songs while playing the piano. Christina had an uplifting personality in all of her YouTube videos and was very talented in singing as well as playing musical instruments. She had a true gift and her videos quickly became viral.

In June 2011, she released her first EP, Find Me. She quickly got recognized and released her first album in 2013 called With Love. People were going crazy over her young age and talented voice. She started to get recognized by other famous singers such as Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. She went on tour with Selena along with Justin and became great friends with both stars.

In 2015, she won iHeart radio's "Rising Star" Award. As she was growing in her career, she also started to inspire many others to follow their dreams and most importantly to be yourself.

"Be stupid, be dumb, be funny, if that's who you are. Don't try to be someone that society wants you to be, that's stupid. So be yourself" --Christina Grimmie

Christina was an amazing person. She was an artist that wasn't in it for the paycheck and spotlight. She was in the music business because she truly enjoyed music and it was her passion. We should all learn from her and be inspired by how many lives she had changed and what impact she wanted to leave on the world. She supported The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and joined hand-in-hand with the Humane Society of The United States to help the animals in the country and also give more awareness to her fans. Christina loved helping in the world as much as she could and it showed.

So, I just wanted to say thank you, Grimmie. You have changed many lives (human and animal) and will continue to inspire many young people to follow their dreams and have a part in our community's. Even though you are gone, you're legacy will stay strong. Your terrible death should not have happened, but it brought awareness to the world that anyone could get hurt at anytime with no warning. You may have saved many lives in the future, because your death taught us to be aware.

Thank you for encouraging us to be ourselves.

Thank you for changing the world.

Thank you for inspiring many.

Thank you for you're life.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
