These days everyone has their own definition of what they "think" a Christian should look like, behave and how they should act. Are these definitions or characteristics right? How should a Christian look? Doesn't the Bible tell us to be like Christ? Why are people trying to do otherwise? Well LeCrae Devaughn Moore, popularly known as LeCrae, is an American hip hop artist and here are his answers to these questions:
1. Christians aren't people who never sin or always do the right thing. We're people who live in continual repentance.
2. If you really wanna be a rebel, read your Bible.
3. My faith is not identified by my title. My faith is identified by how I live. Wearing the uniform is not the same as playing the game.
4. But I'm here to serve people. I'm not here to wave my finger in people's faces and point out to them how terrible they are or what I hate about them or anything along those lines. That's not my place. I'm in no position to condemn anybody.
5. If God has called you to something, He will equip you to be what He has called you to be. If He has called you to be a responsible, faithful, diligent leader, as a man, He will equip you to do that.
6. You are not defined by your possessions, looks or popularity. You are made in God's image.
7. Some of us are more concerned with our reputation than our character. The latter takes care of the former.
8. I think success is being exactly who God called us to be and fighting to your death to live that out.
9. We rushed to Haiti. We adopt in Asia. We empathize with Africa. But struggle to humanize our struggles here in the states.
10. I think we should appreciate ethnicity and diversity and appreciate the uniqueness of all people, but I don't think we should be ethnocentric. These things are not ultimate.
11. I think we all have room to grow. I think every Christian really does need to take up their cross in a lot of areas of life and say, "Man, listen, regardless of what kind of backlash I'm going to get, I need to stand for what I believe in."
12. My mission is not to give an apologetic for why I'm trying to impact people's lives and use the Gospel to transform. My mission is to impact people's lives and use the Gospel to transform. I want to be on that mission and not explaining it all the time.
13. I’m not a Christian because I’m strong and have it all together. I’m a Christian because I’m weak and admit I need a Savior.
