Roll Tide. There is no better saying for the University of Alabama. We are the Crimson Tide, with one of the top ranked football teams in the country and 16 National Championships under our belt. However, football barely begins to scratch the surface of what Alabama has to offer. For me, it wasn't about football. I was born and raised in Ohio and all my family, friends, neighbors, etc., love the Ohio State Buckeyes. I think most people I knew that are Ohio State fans thought I was crazy for coming here (solely because of football). Like I said before, it's not about the football team.
The campus is beautiful. Don't get me wrong. The quad and Denny Chimes is my favorite place on campus. There are a lot of old historic buildings, and some even date back to the civil war era. It's quite a sight to look at. There are so many other beautiful buildings on campus, like sorority row, fraternity lane, Shelby hall and the science and engineering complex. The Amelia Gayle Gorgas library is another one. I didn't come here just because the campus was beautiful and there were lots of pretty buildings, but that is part of the reason.
I came here to the Capstone, built in 1831, for the primary purpose of the university: school. I chose to come here for school because the Capstone College of Nursing is the 28th-best nursing school in the country and pretty state-of-the-art with the videos of it that were released from the university. The nursing school is competitive, but I know I will be promoted to upper division. I know I will graduate in 2020 from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL, with my bachelor's of science degree in nursing. Our motto as a University is, "Where legends are made" and I will become one of those legends.
