When can you easily cook or bake almost every possible thing, then why to go anywhere else? With the help of a mixer, you can save your time in making your favorite dish, in fact, you can try all those new dishes you have never thought of making before. A mixer works more consistently and can provide better textures for many of the things you make.

For those who love to bake and for some who don't love to, kitchen mixers is one such thing you cannot live without once you have it. When you get used to it, doing anything manually seems difficult.

Basically, there are two main categories of consumers for mixers. One, those who are buying it for the first time and are not sure what to really look for. Second, those who want to replace their old mixer.

Here's a buying guide to mixers which provide you with every useful detail giving you a clear idea of which kitchen mixer you should look for.

Hand Mixers

If you are on a budget and also you don't want that your mixer takes up much space, hand mixers can be the perfect choice for you. These mixers come with a simple design and can be easily kept in the kitchen drawers. They also cost you less than $20.

There is two type of hand mixers: electric hand mixers and rotary hand mixers. With rotary hand mixers, you need to use the lever for mixing. And with the help of the electric hand mixers, what you have to do is hold the mixer in the place and rest will be done automatically.

Hand mixers work faster and easier than stirring dough by hand. But they require more work and time than a stand mixer.

Benefits

Hand mixers are more affordable and portable.

They don’t use up much of your kitchen counter’s space.

The clean-up job is quick and easy with a hand mixer. You can easily use any bowl.

Things You Should Keep In Your Mind

With hand mixers, you have to do a little bit of manual work. They are not as fast as a stand mixer. These mixers can be somewhat messy.

Stand Mixers

If you ever hear someone saying that they cannot live without their mixers, the reason could be they are having a stand mixer. With Stand Mixers, the process of baking or mixing is just way easier. They are especially used for baking that requires thick dough such as a bread or pizza dough, or for the recipes that need trickier mixing duties like making meatballs.

Stand mixers have a large mixing bowl and some different attachments that are designed for certain types of mixing- for example, for making meringue you would need a different attachment than you would need for making bread.

As they are stationary, you can easily start mixing something and leave it while you do some other chores. For some recipes, where you need to add ingredients while mixing, this is the task which is quite impossible for one person to complete, here you would definitely need a mixer.

One of the main downsides of a stand mixer is their size and weight. If you don't have a proper space to keep it on the counter, an incipient anger of having such heavy stand mixer in and out of the kitchen cabinet would be there.

Benefits

Stand mixers are more powerful juxtaposed to the hand mixers. They mix even faster than a hand mixer and more thoroughly. Because it is stationary you can start mixing and leave to work other things.

Stand mixers are available with different attachments so that you can get the best results for different types of mixing.

With Stand Mixers, you can easily make pasta, juice, sauce, ice-cream or even mill grain.

Things You Should Keep In Your Mind

They are a bit pricey than a hand mixer. Stand mixers take up a lot of space on the kitchen counter. Sometimes it is very difficult to clean it.

For those who do regular baking, they would surely need both of them. If you have decided to purchase a stand mixer, you can easily have a hand mixer also (they are that affordable). Rest of the factors depends on your cooking and baking needs.

One of the main reasons I came to Salem State was I was offered a spot in the honors program. While it offered many benefits, scholarships and priority registration to name a few, what drew me in was the strong sense of community and close knit friendships many found. I am glad to say that that I did find these things, and so much more. I found a home made up of some of the most brilliant and most unique people I have ever met. The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?
