Follow along with the letters to create your own "basic" journey.
You are a frequent customer at your local Starbucks. Before you even walk through the door the barista knows your order, but today you are not feeling like yourself and decide to try something other than the basic pumpkin spice. You look at the menu and are stuck between an iced drink like peppermint mocha and a warm drink like the special edition snickerdoodle hot chocolate.
Which do you choose?
Cold- A
Warm- B
A- After asking the cashier their opinion on the new seasonal drink, just by their answer you can tell they haven’t tried it yet and decide to go with something that has been on the menu for a while that you know the barista won’t mess up. Before she reaches for the clear cup the cashier asks for your size. Venti, grande, or tall?
B- It’s cold outside so you want something that will keep your hands warm while walking back to your apartment. You tell the cashier to add whipped cream to satisfy your sweet tooth while the rest of the people in line are envying your ability to manage going without caffeine. Before for the paper cup, the cashier asks what size. Venti, grande, or tall?
Venti or Grande- C
Tall-D
C- This drink needs to last you through a good portion of your day because this is the only break you have in your schedule for today. Even though it’s a little extra cash you are willing to pay for your sanity. With one swipe you are all set, or are you?
D- You make yourself feel a little better by portioning yourself with a tall even though this is your third time coming here in one day and you know you will be back at least one more time. It’s cheap so you pay in cash and tell the cashier to keep the receipt, because you don’t need the reminder. The cashier reaches for the cup and their sharpie…what’s next?
The cashier writes your order on the cup and passes it to the barista-E
The cashier asks for your name-F
E- Yes you are all set to wait on your order! The cashier makes sure to write the order down on your cup so the barista can call it out to you when ready. Only problem is everyone ahead of you seemed to have ordered the same drink. Every time the barista yells an order everyone crowds the counter to see if it’s theirs. Even though you just ordered and it’s not at all possible that your drink would have been ready by then you take a random drink and grab either…
A Starbucks Sleeve- G
A Green Straw for a tall- H
A Green Straw for a venti or grande- I
F- Almost done! All that is left is for the cashier to ask for a name for your order. Oh boy, you think to yourself, this never goes well. Should you give them your own name or should you make up something they can’t possibly misspell? At this point it doesn’t matter even if you spell it out for them the chances that they get it wrong are still pretty high. A new drink, a new you!

Once you hear your new name called you grab the supplies you need….
(Refer back to G, H, or I)
G- You grab a Starbucks sleeve to embellish your already decorated cup but it doesn’t fit right so you throw that away and get another one after realizing that you tried to put it on upside down. A rookie mistake on your part but it seems to happens to everyone.
H- There are too many green straws to choose from so you grab a random straw and put it in your drink when you notice it doesn’t look proportional to the tall drink you ordered. Now you are forced to awkwardly drink through an oversized straw. A rookie mistake on your part but it happens to everyone!
I- There are too many green straws to choose from so you grab a random straw and put it in your drink when you notice it disappears and drops straight into your drink. If only they labeled the straws you would have known you got the one for the tall drinks instead of the large sizes. Rookie mistake on your part but it happens to everyone!
Time to choose your ending (Pick J OR K):
J-This is a usual adventure to Starbucks and you are definitely coming back again, and again, and again.
K- You don’t know why you keep coming back to Starbucks because every time you come here something always seems to go wrong. Never again, next time you are going to Dunkin’.
