For many people that did choir in high school, it wasn't just a choir, it was a family. Here are some feelings, some of which you dreaded at the time, but looking back at it you kinda miss a little.
Moving the hood out of the way during massage trains
Do I put it up? Do I just go around it?
Wondering if your massages are normal
Am I too hard? Not hard enough?
Listening to the SATB arrangements of the songs you'll be singing
I actually can't wait to perform these
Quartets
When you're anxious because you'll be graded individually and relieved when it's over
Standing for two hours straight with minimal breaks every day during concert week
Gotta squeeze in that extra practice guys.
Auditioning for solos
*Ear pressed against the door* Oh my God, they're so good!
Spacing on the risers
Your choir director: The men are in a luxury resort while the women are squished like sardines!
Avoiding getting sick
Especially when someone near you on the risers is sick
When one voice part gets yelled at
I'm just glad it's not my section
Trying to hide how unprepared you are
It doesn't work, but somehow we all get our shit together in time for the concert.
