Beans, meat, and rice. The core of a burrito, and the core of the Tex-Mex food industry in the United States. The first beauty of this popular dish is its versatility, for one can add any topping or double of a topping if that's what they desire. The second attraction is that someone else is making it for you, so all you have to do is nod, shake, point, or grunt to get a tasty culmination of your favorite add-ons.
So where can a person get their quick burrito fix? Depending where you are in the U.S., one can acquire a speedy, delicious burrito at three of these popular quick-service restaurant chains: Chipotle, Qdoba, or Moe's.
I've been in the place where I have to pick between one of the two above, and I feel like it's one of the harder decisions I've ever had to make. There's so many similarities and differences between these restaurants, all of the information is too much to think about when I'm just trying to suppress my strong burrito craving.
Being the kind human that I am... I decided to make it easier for the burrito-lovers out there and highlight the strengths of each of the restaurants above. After discussion with meat lovers, queso bingers, guacamole junkies, and the good ol' vegetarians, I've come up with the following conclusions...
1. Qdoba has free guacamole and queso. Yes, free.
2. Chipotle has organic GMO free ingredients, and they were the first national restaurant chain to recently make that switch.
3. Moe's has tofu. That's pretty sweet for those who choose not to eat meat.
4. Chipotle has margaritas, bottled beer, and wine. Qdoba and Moe's have bottled beer.
5. Moe's gives you free chips and salsa with every order.
I still have no idea where I prefer to chow down, but I think for the most part it just depends what you're in the mood for. I hope this little tid bit of information has made picking a burrito spot a little easier and a little more clear. Happy eating!
