The Chipotle Diarrhea-Gate was all over the news in 2015 and 2016. As the rumors and interest simmered and diminished around the Chipotle E.Coli outbreaks, Chipotle has quietly changed their tortilla. They have done this, according to Forbes, because their past tortillas were more susceptible to E.Coli. Chipotle says that the reason for this is because the tortilla is very “thin, flat, and moist”. They say that it is tough for the tortilla to stay fresh because of this.

From further research, I have deemed this to be untrue. This research includes reading posts on Reddit. But hey, they are Chipotle employees! The Chipotle employees on Reddit say that the actual problem is that of refrigeration. The past tortillas are supposed to be refrigerated. But apparently, it was not the norm in Chipotle restaurants to refrigerate these tortillas.

What this means for the consumer: kiss those tortillas good-bye.

The new Chipotle tortillas are less than their predecessor. The new tortillas are dry and thick. The new tortillas are a sad excuse for a tortilla. So don’t be fooled by the new tortillas. In my opinion, I would rather get E.Coli. The taste of the tortilla has completely changed. I have not been back to Chipotle since they have changed their tortillas.

Chipotle has driven me away with their tortillas and Diarrhea-Gate scandal. They have driven me into the hands of another love, Victor’s Taco Shop.

I started going to Victor’s after a couple months of going cold turkey on burritos. I don’t wish it on my worst enemy. Victor’s was a shining light amongst the darkness. They were there to grab me out of the dark abyss that was a taco-less life.

Victor’s is a local taco shop. Victor’s has great tortillas and they have not given me diarrhea as well! Yes, Victor’s is conveniently located down the street from a homeless shelter. Yes, I have been offered H down the street. Yes, a homeless lady has grabbed me on that side of town. Yes, there are trash tumbleweeds in that part of town. BUT… the food is bomb af. Victor’s has expanded to multiple locations in Ohio. Why do you think that is? Because people recognize how great Victor’s is.

Victor’s has agua fresca and horchata too! Some of their orders to note are carne asada fries, taquitos, enchiladas, Chimichanga, tostadas, and tacos. Victor’s is so much better than Chipotle. They also have pickled jalapenos and carrots also. Victor’s is also open for breakfast. Take that Chipotle!

So in hindsight, Chipotle’s Diarrhea-Gate helped me find my favorite taco place.

I highly suggest anyone in Ohio try out Victor’s Taco Shop. Their buildings are not hard to recognize. They are all lime green.

I will be solely supporting my local bomb af taco shop instead. Sorry, Chipotle. You’ve changed. I don’t like the new you.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
