In the constant struggle that is the whirling confusion of life as a twenty-something college student, not much generates quite as much instant comfort and joy as Chinese food. If anyone were to question what the solution to a break-up, rainy day, or overload of homework is, the answer would immediately and inevitably be Chinese food.
General Tso's chicken is never there to hurt you. Chicken fried rice only serves to please and comfort you. While pizza is an incredible delicacy, Chinese is what you eat when you are truly farther down in the doldrums than any cheesy bread can alleviate. Sweet and sour sauce, the deeply fried unauthenticity of it -- nothing can compare.
The cholesterol is sometimes the only thing there to wipe the tears away. Chinese food is better than any boyfriend, any career choice, or any disappointment.
