My Favorite Chill Songs from 2018

In This Article:

Personally, I'm always looking for new songs to listen to and I love getting recommendations from friends. So, I thought I'd give a short list of my absolute favorite chill songs from 2018 to listen to so you can start ~relaxing~.

Drive by Gemineyes

When I first listened to this song, I knew that the voice was familiar. Come to find out it was no other than gnash! Gemineyes consists of Harry Hudson and gnash, and this song is the epitome of vibes. I listened to this when I got my migraines and it helped immensely. Fun fact--this was my most listened to song of 2018!

Pink Skies by LANY

While I will admit that I found LANY towards the end of the year, I have been listening to this song religiously. Paul Klein is truly an angel.

Better by Khalid

I adore everything about Khalid. I adore everything about this song. Enough said.

XO by Beyoncé

This is one of those songs that came up on shuffle and me and my roommates have been listening to it nonstop ever since. It's definitely a classic chill song for me and always makes me feel like I'm in a dream.

Chasing Fire by Lauv

Lauv was my most listened to artist of 2018! I absolutely love his songs--the beats are always super catchy and his songs are on the more vulnerable side in today's pop genre. If you only know I Like Me Better by Lauv, I would really recommend seeking out some of his other songs like this one.

Oceans Away by Arizona

You know those songs you listen to on the plane when looking out the window and thinking about life? This is one of those songs. I think this will probably not only be one of my favorite chill songs of 2018, but for life--it's that good.

Why iii Love The Moon. by Phony Ppl

I'm hoping this is one a lot of people haven't heard. This song is interesting because it has a catchy beat but conveys a message that you don't hear that often in songs.

Ocean Eyes by Billie Eilish

My roommates adore Billie Eilish but I've personally never been able to get into her songs. This song, however, is so good in that Billie has a strength yet softness to her voice and it also shows her range. Beautiful song.

I hope you give these songs a listen and enjoy them as much as I did. Happy New Year!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
