“Netflix and chill.”
This is a common phrase used within our generation, but that’s not the direction I’m taking this article (get your mind out of the gutter!) I simply want to reflect on my withdrawals from the two; I honestly don’t remember the last time I just chilled out and watched Netflix. As a college student drowning in pressure, stress, and exhaustion, I feel like some binge Netflix time is long overdue. If you get to enjoy quality Netflix time, do not take it for granted! Also, would you like to complete six Managerial Finance assignments for me?!
Here are some of the things I miss most about Netflix, and I hope some of you can relate and won’t judge my guilty pleasures:
FRIENDS
I miss my Friends! They always know how to make me laugh, or cry, but it’s fine. Joey, Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, and Ross, I am sorry I haven’t been around much lately. Don’t worry, though, I will always remember that Joey doesn’t share food. I will never forget about Smelly Cat. Were Ross and Rachel really on a break? I won’t go there. One Tree Hill
This show definitely gets me in my feels. There is literally an episode for every situation- the perfect source of a solid Netflix binge session. Lucas, why did it take you so long to finally marry P. Sawyer? My respect level for Nathan Scott simply could not have been any higher by the end of this series. I can only dream to marry a man like him, not that his physique has anything to do with that. The character development of Brooke Davis will always be one of the most brilliant contributions to television I’ve ever witnessed. And of course, Haley James Scott will forever be the type of momma I aspire to be.The Fosters
I discovered this show (credit to my sister) while I was home from school this past summer, and I am now (I'm) patiently waiting for more of the series to be added to Netflix. A lesbian couple with occupations as a cop and assistant principal raising a mix of foster, adopted, and blood-related children are the perfect recipe for stimulating Netflix time. This show literally addresses any social issue, from homosexuality to racial profiling, and I love that because it does so in a tasteful way. The emotional roller coaster that I rode with Callie Foster was mentally exhausting. I low-key wish I could adopt Jude Foster as my own child. The real question, however, is whether anyone else has difficulty not picturing Jesus Foster as Max from ‘The Wizards of Waverly Place.”One day, dear Netflix, we will reunite. Until that day comes, remember my username and password for a quick and easy log in.
