What is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital? St. Jude is a hospital that was built to help treat and defeat cancer and other life threatening diseases. Thier ultimate goal is to have a 100% survival rate and right now they are at 80%! The hospital provides various treatment and care to families with no cost to them, therefore making the program completely donation based. This "free" care to families is what makes the program so nationally known and supported. Although, in order to continue this "free care" St. Jude's must continue to receive donations. This is where the Chili's restaurant franchise comes in.
Every September Chili's hosts a Create-A-Pepper campaign in which they give out St. Jude merchandise based on certain amounts of donations. The merchandise include T-shirts ($10), Koozies ($1), krazy straws ($1), and a coloring page of a St. Jude's Chili ($1, $5, $25, $50). People are also asked before paying on the ziosk if they would like to donate to the cause. Not only do they give out merchandise for donations, but they also decorate their restaurants and ziosk programs with St. Jude's information. As you can see, Chili's takes their partnership with St. Jude's very seriously.
So, what I ask of you is to come join me at Chili's in Greenwood this month and donate to this miraculous program. Help these kids reach a better life expectancy and show them that we here at Lander University indeed do care for them. Unite with Chili's and spread the word of the campaign across the nation through your social media, with the snapchat geofilter and hashtag #createapepperforstjudes.

Abigail is known at the hospital as everyone's friend and loves to ride her bike and play outside. Gracie is known for her love notes and unlimited hugs. These girls have dreams and future aspirations that we can help them reach by just simply donating a dollar!
