Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network graced television with some of the best children's shows in the 90s and early 2000s. Sadly, lots of them were canceled; they didn't deserve that fate. But let's reminisce the good old days!
1. "Hey, Arnold!"
Arnold led us on so many adventures and little mishaps throughout the years. Helga's obsession fueled the idea that teasing could mean someone is desperately in love with you. It even left a little hope in all of us, that someone liked us as much as Helga really loved Arnold.
2. "Danny Phantom"
This was a show with a kick-ass theme song that we definitely still know all the words to. Danny and his friends got thrown into a new world and battled with creatures like no other. Not to mention that this show made me extremely jealous that my parents weren't scientists who mistakenly made me half ghost.
3. "Legends of the Hidden Temple"
This show ran for about two and a half years but let me tell you, those years changed my life. To this day, I would jump at the opportunity to go through that maze. Host Kirk Fogg would go through each maze to completion to make sure he could do it. Why be a host if you couldn't win your own show?
4. "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy"
I would never think of two kids becoming best friends with the Grim Reaper, but it looked like the friendship of a lifetime. Constantly getting into trouble with the real world and the spirit world (usually due to Billy's stupidity) and encouraged by Mandy's own evil ideas, Grim cleaned up their messes time after time.
5. "Courage the Cowardly Dog"
When I was a kid, this show scared me so much. It wasn't until I was maybe 10 years old that I could face these creepy villains. To this day, some of them still make my spine tingle!
6. "Ed, Edd, and Eddy"
These three had perhaps the wildest adventures in children's tv shows. It included the scheme of Eddy, the stupidity of Ed, and the dismay of Edd. Sometimes it seemed that they were going to do something nice for another cul-de-sac kid and that it was actually going to work, too. But usually, it all fell into pieces at the last minute.
7. "What's New, Scooby-Doo?"
Sticking to the 90s and early 2000s, this series of episodes is one of my personal favorites. While nothing can beat the original series, seeing the Mystery Gang solve more and more mysteries together made me want my own Scooby-Doo, a van, and a group of friends to solve crimes with.
8. "The Amanda Show"
Every episode brought new skits, actors, and improved scenes. They all made me laugh until my belly hurt. The best way to end an argument? Bring in the Dancing Lobsters!
9. "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide"
This show really made me think that middle school was going to be this exciting. I felt like I was going to have to go back and watch all the episodes and write out a physical copy of the Guide. There was no profound love story or bully who secretly harbored a talent for fashion design.
"10. The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius"
While "Ned's Declassified" made me think middle school was going to be fun, Jimmy Neutron made me wonder if my head really looked like that when I was thinking. I'm surprised I didn't start yelling "Brain Blast!". I still wish I had my own rocket, so I could go into space without a helmet.
