Flashback twelve years. The sun is shinning and the birds are chirping. It's a Saturday morning and you have just woken up in the day in the life of a 90's kid. 90's kids lived best. The best food. The best TV shows. The best fun.

90's kids had access to the best food. We had snacks like Dunkaroos, Gushers, and Cosmic Brownies. Drinks like Hugs, HIC, and Nesquick powder chocolate Milk. When you heard the ice cream truck making its rounds, you immediately bugged your mom for a dollar to grab a character ice cream. Whenever you went to the convenience store you found yourself leaving with a wonderball or some fruit stripped gum.

TV shows were especially amazing in the 90's. Nickelodeon had Rugrats, Rocco's Modern Life, Catdog, The Angry Beavers, Hey Arnold, The Wild Thornberrys, All That, Kennan & Kel and The Amanda Show. Cartoon network was in it's prime with Dexter's Lab, The Power Puff Girls, Ed Ed & Eddy, and Johnny Bravo. As a 90's kid, you found yourself chilling on the couch watching these favorites. If nothing good was on TV (which was a rarity), you could always pop in your favorite VHS tape too!

90's kids definitely knew how to have fun. We could spend all day outside making our fun out of nothing. You might find us out front using our skip it's, riding our big wheels or playing foursquare. On rainy days, we used to built blanket forts in our living rooms, rent movies from Blockbuster or play video games on Gamecube like Sonic or Super Mario Brothers. We collected Beanie babies and Cabbage Patch Kids. We predicted our future playing match and carried around brief cases filled with art supplies. At school, our favorite days were when they rolled in the bulky TV on wheels to watch Bill Nye The Science Guy. We loved to play Seven Up and do the parachute in gym class.

At the end of your day in the life on a 90's kid, you find yourself curled up in your race car bed with a stary night above. You just got out of the shower where you washed your hair with your L'oreal No More Tears Shampoo. You look forward to tomorrow. Another day that will be filled with delicious food, the best TV shows, and lots and lots of fun.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
