As a college student, I can truthfully admit that I stop caring about putting any effort into my look halfway through the semester.

There have been days where I wake up in the morning and even the thought of brushing my teeth is too exhausting; let alone choosing what outfit, hairstyle, and makeup I'm going to wear. This time around, I've decided to stop showing up to class in a pair of leggings and the shirt I slept in the night before (believe me when I say yikes).

I know I'm not the only woman who suffers this, so here are some tips and tidbits that'll help you look chic without any effort. It's time to fake it till you make it, ladies!

1. Gilded in gold (...jewelry, that is).

This is probably the simplest hack out there – liven up your look with gold jewelry! While there is a specific color palette for different skin undertones, I believe that gold looks good on anyone with any skin tone. For one, it shimmers and makes you look like you're glowing for the gods (without highlighter)! Gold jewelry can also transform your look, no matter what you're wearing. It's sophisticated and can make anyone put a little more put together!

2. Slay with scrunchies.

The 90s have been making a comeback in music and fashion since (at least) 2013. That includes the beloved trend of scrunchies! Before you think I'm trying to make you look like Clarissa Darling from "Clarissa Explains It All," hear me out! Scrunchies can elevate your look and make it appear like you're in the loop when it comes to fashion. Whether they're worn on your wrist or in your hair, scrunchies will undoubtedly make you look trendy! Forever 21 has a wide selection for a lower price – you can be on trend for as low as $1.99!

3. Matching sets made in heaven.

Ever wondered what the definition of "lazy but make it fashion" is? Matching sets are the answer. Not only are matching sets stylish and trendy, but they minimize the amount of work you do when choosing an outfit! You won't have to worry about choosing a complimentary top or bottom because you'll already have both that match. Talk about a match made in heaven.

4. Rock a bold lip and sunglasses.

Glamour

If you don't feel like wearing much makeup, if any at all, a bold lip color is the way to go. Vivid shades like reds, plums, and pinks will accentuate the curve of your lips and give you a high fashion, editorial look. When pairing the lip with sunglasses, the specs will frame your face (so you don't need to wear any other makeup) and give you a sophisticated, glam look.

These four tips will undeniably make you look chic and fashionable without putting in all the effort. Whether you're running errands, going to class, or just grabbing coffee for a study sesh, you'll look fab and put together!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
