The year, 2016, has quickly come to an end. 2017 is in a rush to start. People are contemplating what their New Year’s resolution should be. A resolution is a course of action to resolve something in which we are not happy with. Many common resolutions include exercising more, losing weight, spend less and save more, and spend more time with family. In many cases, however, numerous resolutions are forgotten after a few weeks or months. Despite what has happened in the past, 2017 will be different. This is the year where we will come up with resolutions that we will make a reality. This is the year where all of our hard work will show and pay off. This is the year where our dreams will come true.

My New Year’s resolution in the past has usually been to exercise more. However, I was a dancer, practicing 5 days a week for 3 and a half hours at a time. I’m not quite sure where I would be able to fit in more exercising to my schedule. Looking back on my past New Year’s resolution, I learned that I hadn’t pursued any dream that I had. I believe that a New Year’s resolution shouldn’t be something that you want to fix or resolve, but should be something that you long to have, an idea that you’ve had floating in your mind but never had the chance to really put into action.

This year, 2017, I’ve decided to change my New Year’s resolution. Specifically, I’ve decided to change what the definition of a New Year’s resolution means to me. My New Year’s resolution is not a resolution anymore. It is a dream that will become a reality. I am done sitting back and hoping for things to go my way or trying to get what I want for a short period of time. 2017 is the year of change. 2017 is my year.

Everyone defines change differently. Some people define change as becoming a whole new person, whereas, other people define change as only altering part of their lifestyle. To me, change is a chance to start over. I am starting with a clean slate when making my appearance into the real world. Though my past is in my past, I am not going to forget the lessons I have learned, but am going to grow upon them and use them as a guidance for where I want to go in the future. My goals are what are going to steer me in the direction to happiness. My goals are going to take me on the journey to accomplish my dreams. With the changes I have made, I am going to grab life by the horns are achieve greatness and live life moment by moment.

Everyone out there has dreams that they wish to achieve. It starts with one look in the mirror and then one step out the door in order to make progress in reaching your dreams.

Like Michael Jackson said, “I’m starting with the man in the mirror, I’m asking him to change his ways … Take a look at yourself, and then make a change.” Change can be a scary idea, so take it piece by piece. Start off by working towards a small goal. Then implement that change into accomplishing your next goal. By starting off small and working your way to achieving your larger goals, you will live the life you’ve always wanted to.

Life is a journey with many ups and downs. In order to live life to the fullest, you must get on the journey that will allow your dreams to come true. However, this doesn’t come free. We must work to get what we want. We must put our dreams into action, accept that our goals should not be goals anymore. Our goals should be a reality in which we can achieve pure happiness. This is our time to change who we are into who we want to be. 2017 is our year.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
