Cheers to the end
Can anyone else believe that it’s ALREADY December? It seems like just a few weeks ago that we were all sharing summer gossip and promising ourselves we would get those A’s this semester. For those of you who succeeded, Congrats! And on behalf of the rest of us- we hate you.
But so what if you ended up with a few B’s? Maybe some C’s? The important thing to remember is that you made it this far and that in itself is something to be proud of. So please, celebrate your accomplishments, accept your failures, and take time to FINALLY do the things you want to do this break.
Whether it be spending time with family and friends, sleeping the days away to recharge, or stuffing your face with all those Christmas cookies (my personal favorite) this month is dedicated to YOU and all of your hard work paying off. Those long hours studying and stressing are in the past and it’s time to welcome December into our relaxed and slightly less toned (thanks to thanksgiving) arms.
So go to the movies. Go look at holiday lights. See friends old and new. Been dying to get outside? Go for it. Don’t let your break pass you by, because before you know it the semester (and your high stress levels) will be back in full swing.
It’s so important to take the time to recharge and enjoy this month with the people you love. You only get so many winter breaks and the ending of this semester has propelled us that much closer to adulthood. As stressful as college can be at times, you’ll never have as much time or as much freedom as you do right now. Enjoy it and make the most of this month and the New Year.
As we all continue on with our college careers in the spring, I cannot stress the importance of hard work. Of dedication. Of making time to have fun but knowing when to stay in and get sh*t done. These things, more than grades or pointless assignments will carry you through the rest of your life, long after you’ve said goodbye to your college days. Now is the time to learn, grow and mold yourself into the person you want to be. With the closing of 2016, I think we should vow to make 2017 our biggest year yet.
Wishing everyone the best of holiday wishes and a great ending to 2016. Refresh, recharge, and make 2017 one for the books. You got this!
