An Introduction To The 'Cheesecake Wednesday' Tradition

Imagine eating decadent dessert once a month and feeling more relaxed? Sounds great, huh?

An Introduction To The 'Cheesecake Wednesday' Tradition

Sitting on the floor outside class, my friend and I frantically raced to finish studying for our midterm. Hundreds of lines of Latin pounding in our head, aching to come out- hopefully in proper English. At that moment, our stress and fear seemed to go through the roof, but no fear:

Cheesecake Wednesday was here.

Cheesecake Wednesday is a monthly holiday that is all about celebrating success, commiserating over failure, all while enjoying some non-college cafeteria cheesecake!

As soon as my friend and I saw that the local Starbucks carried Cheesecake Factory cheesecake slices, we knew we had to have some, so why not make it a monthly holiday?

The rest of the month, we focus on efforts on achieving good marks, studying hard, completing homework assignments, working on our co-curricular duties, eating healthy, exercising sometimes, sleeping a decent amount of hours- you name it, we do it (or at least, we try)!

When Cheesecake Wednesday rolls around, we anxiously await sitting in the calm, quiet, warm cafe, eating a slice of decadent cheesecake while taking a break from all the hustle and bustle of school and our busy lives.

I urge you, if you find yourselves overwhelmed with the prospect of staying on top of work and everything else that comes with life- try a Cheesecake Wednesday or Insert Other Food or Activity and Day Here.

Take a much-needed break with a good friend, vow to not talk about work for just the few moments. Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Cheesecake Wednesdays don't have to be a consistent time every month.

Say you get a bad grade on an exam, call for a Cheesecake Wednesday! Say you are particularly upset one day, call for a Cheesecake Wednesday! Say you just want a break from everyday life, call for a Cheesecake Wednesday!

In the midst of exam season, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a nice slice of cheesecake.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
