Most little girls look up to Disney princess, but I just looked up to my big sisters. Although, this is truly one time I will ever admit to it because I have done a good job at fighting it over the years. Yet, oddly enough, this speech is going to have to do a lot with princesses. You see, Chelsea has always loved Disney princesses. She was the weird senior in high school watching The Little Mermaid when it got released from the vault with her friends. However, Chelsea never really made the mark when it came to becoming a princess.
Now, you might be wondering where this is going, but just hear me out. Growing up, Chelsea was overpowered by Brooke's (my oldest sisters) little diva personality who insisted she would be the princess and Chelsea could be the vampiret (what they called girl vampires) when they played. And if you're wondering how this would happen I encourage you to talk to Brooke's little girl, Vivi, for a few minutes.
Then, when her high school put on the play Cinderella, Chelsea was disappointed to find out she was not cast as Cinderella, but the ugly stepsister. But, Cinderella would not have done Chelsea justice because Cinderella simply did not have the backbone that Chelsea does. And well, Chelsea stole the show anyway. And now, on her wedding, the whole world is speaking of the royal wedding. Chelsea promises she picked her wedding date first.
In the end, Chelsea taught me that princesses really aren’t that great anyways. Chelsea taught me you have to love yourself before true love can really happen. Chelsea didn’t have a fairy godmother, like Cinderella, she worked her butt off to be where she is. She didn’t fall in love at 16 just by looks alone and leave her parents for love like Ariel. And she certainly didn’t fall for Stockholm syndrome like Belle.
You see, Chelsea and Nick's love has better than any fairy tale because she knew how strong and independent she was prior to meeting Nick. And anyway, let's be honest, Prince Charming was probably arrogant anyways. A life Nick will be much more fun.
So no, I won't tell Chelsea she looks like a Princess today because no princess can compare to how beautiful, smart, and caring Chelsea really is.
Nick and Chelsea, I also I won't wish you a happily ever after, instead I wish you a life full of love, adventure, and stories that Nick cant get all the way through because he is laughing too ferociously.
