Cheers To The Last Month Of Summer
Tumblr

Well ladies and gentlemen, we have officially made it to August of 2016. We are now entering into our last leg of summer, and I am sure there is a mix of emotions going on. There are the people dreading the approaching school year, while others have been counting down the days. College students are scrambling at the last minute to fix their class schedules, and figuring out which roommate has the honor of bringing the mini fridge. Parents are most likely looking forward to having some peace and quiet in the house. Then there is all the incoming freshmen, and final year seniors. They are the opposite ends of the totem pole, but both wait nervously for what this year is going to bring them.

You see, no matter who you are, there is something significant going on as the summer of 2016 comes to an end. I myself have found that I am caught between pure excitement, and pure dread. Despite where you stand as this last month of summer begins, I would like to take a moment and say that you need to appreciate these days nonetheless. Even though the chaos of back to school shopping is about to strike, I want everyone to not take these last few weeks for granted. Some people tend to just shut down when August rolls around, but why? Yes it's the last month, but it is still a whole month left to enjoy the best season of the year. One month is still left to go out and do what you want to do because that's what summer is all about. Celebrate that it is August and not September!

Don't ruin your month of August because of what is to come in September. Live in the present my friends. Stop worrying for what is to come, because reality check, school starts every year, and it's going to continue to start for years to come. So instead of being sad about it, be glad you still have some summer time left. Go do something crazy this August that's worth remembering, so when August of 2017 rolls around you won't be falling right back into this hole. Summer is not over yet, and keep reminding yourself of that.

I hope each and every one of you has had a wonderful summer, and that this last month will be nothing short of amazing. You deserve to enjoy this last month, instead of worrying about it. Make August of 2016 worth your while, and let’s say cheers to the final month of summer. I hope this summer has been one for the books, and if it hasn't, you have one month left to make it happen.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
