I should count a number of times I say to my friends, "have you checked snap?" My friends and I constantly snap and I even snap my family members. Snapchat makes it so easy to keep in touch with people but also takes away from communicating. Instead of talking you just send pictures back and forth.
Yes, you see facial expressions but there is so much more to communicating. Snapping doesn't help you learn a lot about a person. Snapping just allows you to see what they look like which is very important but it's crucial to know details about a person. You need to learn about a person and that's a flaw that I see in our generation. That is, that we don't get to know the depths of one another but we want to see pictures.
Pictures do not prove anything about one another. In this generation we live in all we care about are pictures and selfies. We can use filters to dress ourselves up and change the angles to try to make ourselves look better. It's not real though, face to face interaction and conversation is what's genuine and authentic.
Overall, we should stop using Snapchat with just pictures to converse and start talking more with words. Our words express so much more than pictures. Our facial expressions show a lot also while we communicate but small word fragments aren't enough.
