Guess what, it's one week before Christmas! There are seven days, 168 hours, and a dozen more Christmas gifts to buy. Ah yes, the most bittersweet holiday of the year. Please don't look at my bank account parents.
1. Get into that Starbucks and buy that coffee mug.
Whether a cold drink or a hot drink lover, everyone loves some type of drink and getting a nicely finished metal cup to use every day is very useful and nice. Bonus points are given if they're environmentally conscious.
2. Take a deep breath, and step into Lush.
Ah yes, the holiday season. Cold weather means for hot baths. Hot baths mean bubbles and bath bombs. Even if we have another 90-degree Christmas like the past couple years, people will still want to get into the holiday attitude and take that nice hot bath. You know we Californians like to pretend it's cold.
3. A nice pair of (mall kiosk) new shades.
However much we'd like to pretend it's 30 degrees and get into the full holiday spirit, we know it's still sunny without a single cloud in sight. So yes, a new pair of shades is always a perfect gift for those here in sunny SoCal. I mean, it's not like I keep breaking them in my backpack or anything.
4. Avocados.
That's right. You knew this was coming. It really is difficult to justify buying one avocado for $2, so as a gift, any of your favorite west coast people will graciously accept the offer. Let's all contribute to the soaring demand and cost of avocados for this next year too!
5. 12 Days of Christmas Socks.
Shoutout to my friend Chris for showing this amazing gift bundle. Just look at these socks! Honestly, with all the socks that magically disappear in the laundry, everyone always needs new socks -- especially those other college students trying to prolong paying $3 to use the dorm washer and dryer.
6. Sunscreen and inflatable pool floats.
Yes, back to the fact that this is California and if it is another hot Christmas, there will be dozens of people at the beach this year again. Just as a little preparation, give a little gift basket of waterproof spray sunscreen and pizza floaties!
7. Lyft gift card.
Yea, we've all had those Starbucks and Target gift cards before. And while those are great, they don't address the problem of transportation when you're a college student with no car in California. Public transit? I don't know her.
