15 Simple DIY Halloween Costumes For Broke College Students

Now that October is finally here, it's time to start focusing and planning one important factor of this month: Halloween costumes.

If you're like me and you're a college student who's currently trying to not break their bank, this might seem like a difficult thing to do. That's why I've made a list of simple, last minute DIY costumes that won't cost you a single penny, and will still let you to have fun on this spooky night.

1. Netflix and Chill

What's chill about this costume is that all you need is some oversized clothing and fabric marker or paper cutout letters.

2. Regina George

Halloween can be the one exception to when you can wear pink.

3. Rosie the Riveter

Denim clothing, a bandana and some red lipstick? You can definitely do it!

4. KISS

Rock and roll all night with your favorite black clothing and makeup.

5. Frat Bros

Embrace your inner Brad and Chad from Theta Apple Pie with a nice shirt and a backwards hat, and maybe a "Saturday Are For The Boys" flag.

6. Gossip Girl

Wanna pull off the Manhattan's elite look? Just grab some knee high socks, a dress up shirt and a plaid skirt, and you'll instantly feel like an Upper East Sider.

7. 80s Workout

If you wanna get physical, invest in some neon colored sports bras and spandex, and maybe some leg warmers to spice it up.

8. Risky Business

Borrow a guy's white dress shirt, grab some spandex, and some ankle socks to pull off Tom Cruise's famous scene.

9. Danny and Sandy from Grease

Leather clothing is "the one (item of clothing) that you want" to rock the fan-favorite movie on this holiday.

10. Your favorite fruit

All you need is an oversized shirt that's the same color of your desired fruit, some fabric markers, and then you're in for a super sweet costume.

11. Jim and Pam from The Office

You'll get extra points if you can make jello with a stapler inside of it.

12. Athlete

Wear your favorite sports jersey and support your team, or just whip out some athlete socks with an active tee and running shorts.

13. The Bachelorette

If you have an old homecoming or formal dress lying around, then you're guaranteed a rose for the big night.

14. Your favorite meme or vine

Show off to everyone else how well you know your vine references.

15. Cat

If worst comes to worst and you're stuck with nothing to wear last minute, just draw some eyeliner on your face, wear a black shirt, make some ears out of paper, and dress as the most simple costume in Halloween history.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.
