The Brazilian buttock lift (BBL) is a fat-transfer technique that improves the appearance of the buttocks. Liposuction is used to extract extra weight from other body regions, such as the chest, hips, lower back, and thighs. For those looking to improve their bodies, BBL is a common technique.
Dr. Michael Omidi is a double-board certified plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic surgery in Beverly Hills and the greater Los Angeles area. He has successfully undergone thousands of surgical operations, including liposuctioning and fat transfer procedures, to extract cellulite and restore bulk and curvature to the buttocks lost due to weight loss, aging, or pregnancy.
If done correctly, the operation can be completed quickly and safely with no anesthesia and minimal injury. Dr. Omidi will walk you through the steps he takes to execute this treatment safely.
1. Cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon who is board certified. Be sure the plastic and reconstructive surgeon is board-certified.
2.Verify that the physician practices this operation regularly.
3. Anesthesia – This operation should be conducted under general or sedation anesthesia. Dr. Omidi favors mild to extreme sedation. The patient loses sight, hearing, and memory but retains life-saving reflexes, and the chance of blood clots and embolism is greatly diminished.
4. Dr. Omidi claims that the PAL procedure is better because the liposuction cannula is moved very softly and steadily. As a result, there is minor damage to the tissues, which results in less swelling and bruising. More specifically, it allows the liposuction cannula tip to be shifted slowly while staying aware of its position. This decreases the risk of destroying deeper tissues or the superficial fat nearest to the surface, resulting in inconsistencies and asymmetry if removed.
5. Assistance to the patient when turning. After liposuction, turning a patient must be handled carefully since the flaccid patient cannot shield themselves or their appendages from injury. During liposuctioning, Dr. Omidi likes to lighten the anesthesia. The patient will help transform and will keep all defensive reflexes active. When the patient is revived, there will be little or no discomfort from the operation, and Dr. Omiidi will administer a long-lasting local anesthetic before liposuctioning.
6. Transferring fat to the proper places. You must transport fat into the subcutaneous fat layer behind the gluteus muscles. It SHOULD NOT be injected into the buttock's deeper tissues.
