Charlotte Tilbury: The Makeup Artist To The Stars & The Rest Of Us

Unless you are a big beauty enthusiast, chances are you're not too familiar with the name Charlotte Tilbury. Charlotte Tilbury is a U.K.-based makeup artist and has been working as a makeup artist for decades. She's worked on the faces of Kate Moss, Amal Clooney, Rihanna, Penelope Cruz, Jennifer Lopez, and Gisele–just to name a few. Her work has been featured on the cover of Vanity Fair, W Magazine, V Magazine and Vogue dozens of times. Chances are if you've ever passed by a news stand, you've seen her work. Charlotte Tilbury recently launched her award winning makeup line in the U.S. in August of 2014 and she herself was recently named Womens Wear Daily's makeup artist of the year!

Now you may be wondering why I'm telling you all about this person who you've possibly never heard of. Well, I'm telling you that because of this extremely talented woman, you too can look like J Lo and Kate Moss. Charlotte's makeup line was created to do just that. When creating her makeup line Charlotte kept the idea of bringing New York Fashion Week glamour to the department stores in a readily available, easy to use makeup range. Her goal was to make every woman, even those who just stick to mascara, be able to use makeup in a step by step, foolproof line.

For example, she created her entire range based on different looks. These looks incorporate specific eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, lip liners, glosses, blushes and more. They all put together so that the work is already done for you. If you've ever had a hard time figuring out if a blush or lip color would go well with an eyeshadow, your worries are over because that's exactly what Charlotte put together for you.

The Dolce Vita

This look here is one that Charlotte is famous for: The Dolce Vita. Notice how she has a ready-made kit of products put together so that you can create the entire look yourself. And if that's not enough, she's gone the extra mile and created YouTube tutorial videos for each of her looks so you literally see the artist herself using the products. It's as easy as googling "Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Tutorial," or just visiting her channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/ctilburymakeup

If this look is a little too intense for you that's fine. In her tutorials Charlotte tells you how to start from the most basic version of her look and build it all the way to a look thats ready for a night out.

Charlotte has created a handful of amazing looks for her brand including

The Rebel (My Favorite) :

The Uptown Girl:

The Vintage Vamp:

The Ingénue:

The Glamour Muse:

The Golden Goddess:

The Sophisticate:

The Rock Chick:

The Bombshell:

As you can see, Charlotte has created a wide array of looks ranging from ones that would fit a young teen to those that are suited for the most seductive of women. Whatever you choose, you cannot go wrong with anything in Charlotte's line and remember all of this is is just the tip of the iceberg. I invite you to explore her line and have some fun with the makeup.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
