Charlie Brennan: Campus Celebrity

Wake Forest has our very own campus celebrity.

Meet Charlie Januszewski, or as he’s known in the music industry, Charlie Brennan. He’s a junior pursuing a psychology major, but his real passion can be found inside the recording studio. Charlie has been writing music since the age of 10, and in the ninth grade, he began recording his work in a studio. He’s performed live shows all over the New York City area and his album “Foster” along with various singles can be found on iTunes and Spotify.

But that’s not all. If you haven’t already seen it online, Charlie’s single, “The Ocean” with Lulu S. and Donald Templeman, was featured in a Pepsi web commercial.

“A company directing the commercial approached me when they found my music online,” said Charlie, “I was really excited because for me the next step in my career is to get my songs into commercials, movies, and TV shows. I was really thankful and humbled by the opportunity to work with such a large company, and it really justified all the hard work I had put into the song.”

The most recent ad by Pepsi was created for World Emoji Day, July 17.

The commercial features “The Ocean” by Charlie Brennan (feat. Lulu S. and Donald Templeman) playing in the background of a proposal scene using Pepsi’s own emoji’s. If you have not seen it, check it out below!

His new album is anticipated to be released this fall. It includes “The Ocean” and “Lemonade," both singles which have already been released, as well as 12 new songs.

“I spent a really long time working on this project and really focused on writing about things that were happening in my own life,” said Charlie.

If you like what you heard in the commercial, more of Charlie’s music can be found on iTunes and Spotify under Charlie Brennan.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
