Your Chosen Major and its Stereotype

Your Chosen Major and its Stereotype

One of the biggest jokes of college may have to be picking your major. Who's really going to use their major after college anyways..?

The typical Communications major:

You loooove social media! In it for the likes! Communications majors are always out because they have so much free time, but part of their major includes being social right? So really going out is part of their studies. Being unemployed after graduation isn't a concern, because they always have their "Mrs. Degree" to fall back on.

The "Pre-Med" major:

Well, pre-med isn't actually a major, but at least it makes you sound smart. Credit is awarded to these science nerds though for majoring in something awful like Biology or Bio-Chem-No-one-cares-istry. Their favorite line is, "sorry, I can't, I have lab...." But hey when you're a successful Doctor all those missed Frat Parties will be totally worth it.

Theater Majors:

Because they are all going to make it to Broadway right? These people loooove drama, and being fake...almost as much as they love spending their four years of college learning nothing, but they are destined to be a star so it doesn't matter.

The Brainy Psychology Major:

Loves to listen to other people's problems and looooves pretending they can fix people's issues. Psychology majors are typically weird brain loving people. Don't worry though because if you ever want to be over analyzed they've got it covered!

The "I just want to be a Teacher" Major:

What do you even do in class, play with play-dough? How hard can these classes even be? But on the bright side, I'm sure you have a lot of free time now to go out! You must realllllly love school if you want to spend the rest of your life there receiving nothing much in return.

 The "I'm pre-law" Major:

Again, this isn't a major...but they will probably try to argue it is. These students tend to think they are always correct and superior to everyone else. Acting in-charge is definitely one of their hobbies. Easily recognizable by the nicely dressed guy at the library at 2am, or the Elle Woods wanna-bees.

International Business Major:

Because they hate America. " Once I graduate, I'm moving to Italy." They dream of casually strolling the streets of their new foreign country with a cappuccino in one hand, and their new foreign soul mate on the other.

The ever popular - Business Major:

Basically, "I didn't know what to major in so I picked business because it applies to everyone." Just about every Frat Star is a business major, so how hard can it be?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
