What sets Delts apart from other chapters on campus? “We are looking to end the ‘fraternity’ stereotype. Our involvement on campus and our brotherhood events such as paintball and the winter ski trip really make us stand out."—Senior, Greg Burdett.
What is the best part about being in Delta Tau Delta? “Honestly, when I first went through recruitment, I wasn’t really expecting much. I had heard about a lot of different fraternities and different peoples’ opinions on them, however, when I first met the Delts I was very impressed. I seemed to get along with a bunch of them and after going to more recruitment events, I really found that these were the guys that were going to push me to be the person I strive to be every day. Another reason why I chose this fraternity was because of the amount of time and effort they put into academics, service, and philanthropy. This just makes being in Delts even more of a rewarding experience.”—Junior, Chris Scumaci
Delta Tau Delta has made big strides since re-chartering at Iowa. Though they have not been back on campus for long, they have built a good reputation for themselves based on being gentlemen and being respectful towards everyone they encounter. The fraternity has grown larger and larger every year, drawing in men who are dedicated to philanthropy and community service. It is clear that this group of men cares about building relationships both within the fraternity and with the outside professional world. The reputation that I have heard around campus for Delta Tau Delta is that they are the fraternity that is most likely to be referred to as “husband material.” Ladies, if you’re looking for a man that isn’t going to play with your heart, these seem to be the go-to guys. I can definitely say that there are multiple guys who I would consider to be close friends in this chapter and they have never let me down once. The Delts are a diverse group guaranteed to kick butt in any kind of dance competition on campus, as we all learned from their success in Follies and Iowa Shout. It is clear that joining Delta Tau Delta means joining a strong brotherhood that gives back to their community and still knows how to have a good time. It can be said that whatever you’re looking for, the Delts have it.
