“Alpha Phi is more than just a sorority, it is an organization that will open doors of opportunity to its members, empower, and provide the tools necessary to succeed." Alpha Phi's president, Shelby Wells said. "My experience in Alpha Phi has been this and so much more."
"When I joined Alpha Phi as a freshman, I was so excited to become a part of such an established organization; however, I quickly realized that it was so much more than that," Wells said. "Alpha Phi has made me into the woman, leader, and philanthropist that I am today and has given me a support system that I know I will cherish and have forever."
"Whether I was at a football game having the time of my life with my sisters, or at our chapter’s Red Dress Gala raising money for Women’s Heart Health through the Alpha Phi Foundation, Alpha Phi is something that I can’t imagine my collegiate experience without,” Wells said.
The 2014 pledge class also said a few words about why they decided to pledge Alpha Phi.
“There are so many reasons as to why I joined Alpha Phi. One of the most important reasons to me is because of how welcoming my Alpha Phi sisters are. Attending a school 19 hours away from home can be really difficult thing to become comfortable with. Joining this sorority made my transition from living in New York, to living in Alabama easier than I ever imagined it to be with the help of my sisters. Being apart of such a supportive and positive organization has made me in to the mature, responsible, and willing person I am today. Alpha Phi has created so many opportunities, friendships and connections for me. I am so blessed to have joined such a strong chapter, and look forward to making more memories with my best friends in my remaining years of college.” Maclaine Farrell, PC '14.
“When going through recruitment, I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that I wanted to make an impact in my community and beyond. To not only create a family, but to have one that was genuine and wanting me to be apart of it just as much as I did. Also, the memories and experiences that would shape my future in a positive way. I didn’t just find Alpha Phi, but Alpha Phi found me and I couldn’t be more grateful to have found everything I wanted and more!” Reagan Mitchell, PC '14.
“Before college, I was just a small town girl, born and raised in Southern Alabama, and who had never been outside of the South. Alpha Phi has broadened my horizons and I have sisters and best friends Wisconsin to California to New Jersey. These girls are more than friends. They are literally my sisters who will be near and dear to my heart and far beyond graduation. Alpha Phi is more than just a sorority, and I hope that you all will get to experience something this amazing.” Morgan Smith, PC '14.
