Changes Are Sometimes Good

Minor Vs. Major

Changes Are Sometimes Good
Hadley

People talk all the time about someone and their new looks; rather it'd be a hairstyle choice or a current workout they are trying out that makes something about them glow. It's something we as the human species like to call minor change. Minor change is a healthy routine that individuals need to face to basically survive in a sense, but what about complete changes? What if that one focused workout became a whole picture or that hairstyle changed to a hair cut? What if you move from one state to another? Those are big changes but they are sometimes even more healthy than those minor ones.

So currently I am writing about changes because well, honestly because I am personally changing. I had a situation take place that opened my eyes to change my so average self into a hot mess - if that is the terms we should use. I am honestly just so tired so with the help of my best friend and pinterest, I'm changing. I'm changing a lot and it includes cutting 4 inches of my hair off. I was advised to do squats both with and without the weights, and I'm changing my food habits. I even picked up the new hobby of indoor salon tanning (Careful and read through every inch of paper when it comes to this). I'm changing because it's time to find a new me.

Below are a few steps I have found to be useful for this...

1.) A New Coat Doesn't Always Have to be Orange...

Like I mentioned above, tanning is an okay thing for change just find a routine that isn't only safe but right for you and your body. I personally go every two to three weeks just so the aging process isn't as extreme as someone who goes once a week.

2.) The Hairstyle Doesn't Always Have to be Long...

Hair grows... and grows.. and well grows. If you cut it for a change, don't be scared because remember it always grows back. The other piece of advice I am sharing here, is once you pick a style you like, don't make it your main cut for the next ten years. This idea of change is supposed to be an idea of a healthy, fresh you but also don't jump in head first and change the hairstyles drastically or too often either. Take it slow and just remember it all grows back.

3.) Don't Go Too Far...

In some cases change might be a new wardrobe. With this, don't jump in too deep either because it's not exactly the best idea to spend hundreds of dollars on items that don't even make you happy. If you really want to go full on out and revamp your wardrobe, shop low. TJ Maxx and Ross are two great places with affordable yet cute items. Also and if you must, watch for sales at name brand places or even go out of your way and normal routine to go to an outlet mall.

The most important thing is though, when I say don't go too far, I'm meaning don't spend hundreds of dollars to change or make it where it's a constant idea of life. The important thing to always remember is to stay true to yourself and know that if you do make any changes at all, it's for YOU. Nobody else, you.

I hope this helps out in the brief article it was. Good luck and remember to stay the you you are.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. It seems pretty easy to do, and in high school all we wanted to do was graduate and move on to this next chapter of our lives. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
