Yes, You Have The Ability To Change Your Life With Your Outlook

Basically, if you think negatively the majority of the time, you'll attract negative things into your life. On the contrary, if you think positively, then you'll attract positivity into your life.

Yes, You Have The Ability To Change Your Life With Your Outlook

Let me preface this article by clarifying that no, I am not trying to convince you that this will work, and no I am not telling you to implement this in your life. I'm simply providing my opinion on a subject, giving a lot of examples from my own experience. This is also more of a reminder to tell you that yes, you are in control, and regardless of the current hardships you might be going through, it will all work itself out. So let's begin.

Has there ever been something that you really wanted (think big, like a dream house you always see in those catalogs or a new job you love) and thought about a lot, kind of forgot about for a short period of time (could be an hour, could be a year), and then it seemed like all of a sudden you got that thing you wanted? Something that's seemed to increase significantly in popularity is the law of attraction. For those who have not heard of it, basically, it follows the principle of "what you are is what you attract."

Basically, if you think negatively the majority of the time, you'll attract negative things into your life. On the contrary, if you think positively, then you'll attract positivity into your life. Yes yes, I understand that this concept may sound strange, crazy even. But it's something that's worked for me. It's the whole "like attracts like" concept.

I stumbled upon a bunch of law of attraction videos at some point in the summer. At first glance, I was somewhat skeptical, until I remembered that this was what my mom had been telling me to implement ever since I was younger. She never gave it a specific name, rather she just stressed the importance of energy and the power of words. The message was the same: focus your energy on what you want, and that's what will come to you.

When I was younger, I disregarded my mom, despite seeing results of this. Since rediscovering it, I actually started to implement and yes, I saw results. (For instance, I unintentionally manifested a text from an old friend although this was something I didn't really want to manifest oops) Most importantly though, I began to feel more in control of my life and helped me gain a sense of confidence that I don't think I had before.

As I mentioned, no I'm not trying to convince you that this works and that you have to implement it into your life. But I think I'm more trying to remind you that in the end, it will be OK. It's your life. You got this.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
