The other day I had a conversation with my boyfriend about what to do with our lives. He's said since I've known him that he wanted to be an architect, but have spending two semesters and taking some classes in high school for it he's not sure if that's what he wants to do. Deciding what you want to do for the rest of your life before you're even 20 is something I like to think is impossible. We get one relatively small life to live in the grand scheme of things, why waste it doing only one thing. Change your mind, and then change it again. Spend years in a profession and then go back to school for something else. Be a lawyer, then become an artist. Teach English, and then start writing your own books.
Whatever you decide to do in this life, do it with all of your passion. With all of your heart. Life is too short to spend it doing something that no longer makes you feel joy. So that day when my boyfriend told me he might want to create his own business instead of become an architect that's exactly what I told him. Don't listen to the people who say you can't or shouldn't change your mind, they are not the ones that have to live your life. With everything you do, who you choose to marry, what career you have, who you want to be, do it for you and your own happiness.
