In the society in which we live, people are often shunned for being different, facing ridicule and humiliation for being themselves. Many people of different races, religions, and genders often live in fear of being themselves due to the judgments of fellow citizens. Here are a few reasons why we treat others the way we do, and how we can be kinder in our everyday lives in order to create unity between our people.

We learn to create labels in order to comprehend our differences.

We as people need to learn to understand that we are not bits and pieces that make up a whole, we are one race whether we choose to believe so or not. Since the day we were born every single one of us has been taught to put each other in little boxes with labels on them, categorizing each other into sectors in order for our brains to comprehend the differences between one another, however, there is no such thing as a Caucasian race, an African American race or an Asian race, there is only a human race. As comforting as it may be for some of us to make these distinctions between one another, it only creates a barrier between us all. Today is the day we need to learn to see one another for what we are, a community of people who despite color, religion or sexual orientation all have our fair share of struggles.

We learn what we are taught.

We believe only what we have been taught to believe, everything single stance we have learned to believe in since the day we were born is something that has been imprinted into our heads as we have grown from tiny little children with no experience to worldly people with more knowledge than we know what to do with. No child is not born a homophobe, racist or sexist, as we grow we are taught these barriers that separate our civilization. We have a choice every day to roll out of bed and decide whether we want to relearn our teachings, there is no reason why we cannot decide that today is the day we are going to look at things through different eyes. Make the choice to think differently, it only takes one person to make a change.

Every day is a chance to make a change.

Today is a new day to be unbiasedly compassionate and kind to everyone you encounter, take every opportunity to spread love to others regardless of color, religion or sexual orientation. Every single one of us has spent their entire life in a hateful society facing the hardships of life, it is the time we acknowledge the struggles we all face and leave our judgments aside to embrace that we are all part of one giant community, and it is time for us all to unite as just that. If you don't see kindness in the world, be the kindness in the world.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
