When most people hear the word "change," they automatically correlate it with something negative because change is known to be scary and not known as something positive. However, experiencing a change in your life does not necessarily need to be a bad thing just because everyone else in the world believes it is.

I am sure you have heard at least one person in your life tell you that you "have changed," right? Then you are kind of just left contemplating what you should say back. Were they being nice and meaning that you changed in a positive way, or were they being mischievous?

I know that when I was younger, I used to get a little defensive when someone would suggest that "I have changed" because what was that supposed to mean? But as I grew older, it finally made sense to me that change does not have to be a bad thing to happen. Change is good and necessary for all of us to grow into the people we are destined to be in this life we are living every single day.

If you are gradually making positive changes to your life that are making you a better person each and every single day, then how is that even close to being something negative? You have every right to change and improve yourself from the person you were 2 years ago, or even the person you were yesterday. No one else has the power to take that away from you.

So, if you want to do something simple like changing your hair color, or even something more drastic and change your occupation, never feel bad about doing any of it. If changing parts of your life is going to make you happier in the long run, then so be it.

We are all human beings, and as human beings, we are naturally going to change. That is just the way life works. You are not the same person you were when you were a baby, I hope, and you shouldn't feel obligated to stay the same as you continue to grow.

You don't owe anything to anyone except yourself and never forget that. If you are content or confident with who you are as a person, then those other people don't even matter and shouldn't matter to you either.

Change is inevitable, so it is important to start learning to embrace it instead of running from it. As cliche' as it may seem, everything happens for a reason and it will all eventually work out the way it is supposed to. At the end of the day, I hope each and every one of you are able to make those changes that you need to in your life regardless of what other people may think. You deserve the utmost happiness in your life and should be proud of the changes you make in your life.
