Change Is Always An Option

From the mundane to the extravagant, you are in control

We've all been there, stuck in the routine of life and just plain bored of what has been coming our way. Whether it be at work, school, or something in our personal lives, we could all use some spice and a nice shake up now and then.

The stage in your life that you make a change is important, regardless of what that may be: getting a new job, moving to a new house or even a new city, or something as simple as changing your shampoo in the morning and the sheets you're sleeping on.

If you change while you're a teenager, it's considered angsty rebellion against The Man, which let's be honest, who hasn't had their own little revolution against the system?

If you make a change when you're in your 20’s it's considered finding yourself and growing up a little, and doesn't that sound great! Who couldn't use to find themselves a little more?

If decide to change something any later than that, but before you retire, you'll be accused of having a midlife crisis and attempting to find your youth again. Which come on Dad, buying a house on the water and getting a boat seems a bit too cliché, doesn't it?

And if you've made it all the way to retirement and finally make some changes, however grandiose and out there as it may be, everyone seems to be okay with it. You've lived your life and if you want to retire and move to somewhere exotic, who's to blame you!!

However, you shouldn’t feel limited by your age, whatever it may be whether you’re young or old, you should always feel like you have the power to do something that you want to do.

Now obviously this isn’t an ultimate “do whatever rash thing you want” sort of thing, you shouldn’t be getting a tattoo of your celebrity crush when you turn 16 because by the time you turn 17 you probably won’t be feeling so strongly for them anymore.

But if there’s something in your life that you desperately want to change and you would be living life all the better for having done it, you should by no means feel limited by age, or any other factor for that matter.

It’s my firm belief that you should be the one in charge of your own life in every aspect, and that no matter who you are or where you are in life you should always feel like you are in control and capable of being the person you are supposed to be.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
