Chandler Bing is one of the most relatable fictional characters I've ever encountered on a television series. Here are a few ways he's indirectly described the life of a college student.
1. Indecisive about life choices.
Chandler understands what it's like to not know the career you're gonna dive into once you graduate or even what on-campus job you wanna work for the semester.
2. Great first impressions.
He knows the struggle of meeting people for the first time. It doesn't always go smoothly.
3. Doing the best they can.
There's going to be a time where your friend needs you to help get them through a bad day, a stressful day in the midst of finals work, etc, and you might not always be up to it. Chandler understands and will let you know up front he's just not that great at it.
4. Knowing how to have a good time.
A good college student knows how to have fun, just like Chandler Bing (even if he's only speaking in dance moves).
5. Being broke
If anyone understands the struggles of not having a lot of money, it's Chandler Bing.
6. Wanting to find true love.
Not everyone will openly say it, but everybody wants somebody.
7. Not having tons of friends to hang with.
Lots of people in college have loads of friends, but not everyone. You're not the only one.
8. Honesty.
If you hear a college student say the phrase, "I'm fine, everything's fine", chances are, things are really, very not fine.
9. A slight drinking habit.
Lots of college students drink. Some even start in the morning. Chandler gets it.
10. Friends making plans without you.
We all have at least one: the friend that does things without inviting you first. It hurts and even Chandler knows.
11. Wanting to stay in on the weekends every now and then.
It's okay to not want to go out every weekend. Going to bed early isn't a crime.
12. Not always having the most creative ideas.
Having writer's block is the worst. Or just not having any creative ideas when you wanna do something fun sucks. At least you didn't say grapes were invented because "who can get a watermelon in their mouth?" (Chandler did.)
13. Having high expectations of yourself.
Thinking very highly of yourself can go a long way.
14. Stress.
When you're overwhelmed from everything you've been learning, Chandler totally understands what you're going through.
15. Learning great pick-up lines.
If anyone can say a great pick-up line, it's Chandler. Maybe that's where all the college kids get it from.
16. Dancing.
Except this one doesn't need to be explained with words. Just his great moves.
17. Self-loathing.
No one relates better than Chandler Bing.
18. Giving excuses for not going to the gym on the regular.
If you don't wanna, you don't wanna, you know?
19. Doing most of the group work.
It's just not fair and Chandler gets it.
20. Embarrassment.
And finally, when you say something you didn't mean to and end up looking like an idiot. No one understands this more than Chandler.
