At a young age, parents teach their kids the importance of grit and never giving up. If you want something, you go get and get it. Chance The Rapper is a perfect example of someone who has refused to give up.

Being an artist, he has every right to live in tribulation since the music industry is so rough. But time after time, he finds a way to succeed. His music is extremely catchy and he finds a way to connect with his listeners.

An interesting fact about him is his relationship with Childish Gambino. First starting off, Donald Glover (also known for his stage name "Childish Gambino") was acting for the most part. But once he switched his career to music, that gave the opportunity for Chance to showcase his talent as well. It's always interesting to see fellow performers help each other succeed.

Aside from his interesting friend group, this man is raw and genuine when it comes to his music. He tells it as it is. I think that's why so many people relate to his tunes because he makes his lyrics relatable and realistic. Most rap songs you hear today are vulgar and inappropriate, relating either to drugs or sex. People, for the most part, aren't committing heists and soliciting illegal substances, which is what modern artists write about. But with Chance, he keeps it honest and portrays how he cares more about the messages he's sending rather than the words he's saying.

One of the reasons why he is so inspirational to this generation is the fact that he literally started at the bottom. He has relentlessly refused labels and sponsors as an artist. He has made it very clear from the beginning that he wants his music to sell because of what he is writing, not because it was just heavily promoted.

Within the past week, Chance The Rapper released a video to his song, "Same Drugs."

Him releasing this video was just another example of how free he is when it comes to promoting his music. On Twitter he made the announcement that the video would be out the following week. But within five minutes he tweeted again, deciding to just release the video right away. This not only showed how flexible he is as an artist but also how great he is with his fans as well.

His hard work has officially paid off though, landing him multiple Grammy nominations. He is also set to perform at the award ceremony as well, showing the world that dedication and persistence can get you places.

Chance The Rapper has made a significant impact on the music world, successfully earning the respect he deserves from his fellow performers.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
