If you don’t know who Chance The Rapper is, then you are probably living under a rock.
Chance The Rapper is a 23-year old Chicago native that came on to the music scene in 2013, making waves when his second mixtape, "Acid Rap," began to gain popularity. Since then, he has only released singles, but he has released another album called "Surf," with his group Social Experiment,in 2015. Fans are anxiously awaiting his next solo album.
Although fans are still getting their dose of Chance through the tracks he has been featured on, it seems like in the past year, Chance has become the go-to feature on many hip hop tracks. He has been featured on many big name albums, and he's worked with chart-topping artists such as Kanye, Lil' Wayne, Skrillex and Vic Mensa. Needless to say, this is leaving everyone wondering who might be featured on Chance's next solo album.
There have been rumors looming about features with the likes of Frank Ocean, J-Cole and Andre 3000. But there is still no concrete information on the album. Although, we are all hoping that yet another artist could get Frank Ocean to come out of hiding, and we are interested to see what a track featuring the two would sound like.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, they speculated that, "Chance's next album likely will drop whenever the rapper, who will be touring for the next two months, decides the time is right."
It comes as no surprise that Chance is being very private about the production of his album, because he is all about his artistry, and could not care less about the press or people being up in his face. This vibe can definitely be seen in his most recent feature on Kanyes' song "Ultralight Beam," where he states, "My daughter look just like Sia, you can't see her," alluding to the fact that he likes to keep his private life just that way.
Chance keeps teasing his fans with singles like "Angles" and "Somewhere In Paradise." They both feature that classic Chance sound that many, myself included, can't get enough of. Chance has a way to take over a song, whether it be with his melodic screeching or his thought-enticing lyrics, his style is different and refreshing. Whether the album drops tonight or weeks from now, we will all be waiting for it to grace our ears.
